Dear friends

2012 will be the most important year in the history of the development of our Police.  In seeking to be the Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands, I am committed to ensuring that the policing needs of the region are met.  This commitment covers the entire needs of Wolverhampton, Walsall, Solihull, Sandwell, Dudley, Coventry and Birmingham.

Policing is good in the West Midlands but I want to make it even better. I want to tackle the issues that affect us all locally.  I want you to rest easy in your beds at night, not to worry when your children are out at play and to be free to walk in our neighbourhoods.

We have suffered from savage policing cuts driven by the Tories and Lib Dems.  Far too many voices have been silent or too quiet on this matter.  I will be relentless in opposing cuts for the police.

Together our voices as one are stronger. I want to be the channel for the West Midlands voice on policing and for that I need your support.  In return I promise to be available to listen and represent your voice.

I will work with you to highlight issues that are important to you. To do this I ask for your support and involvement in this campaign.  There is a lot of work to be undertaken between now and November 2012 when the first Police and Crime Commissioner will be elected for the region.

I hope you find this website useful.  It contains information about the changes in the legislation, how you can become involved in my campaign and have your voice heard.

I look forward to meeting you and gaining your support over the coming months.

Hon. Alderman Mike Olley LL.B (Hons), LCG LCGI
